This appointment was a highly anticipated one due to the nature of it. We knew this was the day we would be taking the blood test (called a "Quad Screen") to determine whether or not there is anything that we need to be watching for like spina bifida or Down's Syndrome. There has been some anxiety over the past few weeks because we are a little nervous, as there could be false positives, or really be something we need to start researching. As good parents, we thought it would be best to get this somewhat "optional" test because if there IS something that we need to be aware of, we want to be as knowledgable about the condition as possible. That way we can provide the best care we can. Because of this anxiety, we asked our Sunday School class to pray for us. They were very willing and we had a LOT more peace today because of those prayers and the support. Our doctor was very reassuring about the test and all the possibilities of the results, and what that would mean with our care throughout the rest of the pregnancy. We were definitely more at ease when we left the hospital after the blood test than I would have thought we would be under normal circumstances. We should know the results within 7-10 days. The coolest part about today was the rainbow Dave and I VERY BRIEFLY saw as we were leaving the hospital. That gave me even more peace and a hope that God was with us at the appointment, and He will continue to be with us throughout this pregnancy, REGARDLESS of the results of the test. What an awesome God we serve! He loves us so much and is WITH US through everything that we go through! =)
