Thanksgiving With Our Families 2007

Thanksgiving Day was so much fun this year! We were able to have almost all of our families in town for the big day. This is Dave's favorite holiday out of the year, and since he only gets Thanksgiving off work, it wouldn't be possible for him to travel anywhere. To compensate, we have everyone come here to our house for Thanksgiving. This is our 5th year to host! Can you believe 10 people fit in our house most of the day, and then we added 5 more for dessert?? I was amazed! My mom and dad helped out so much this year, while Mary, Jerry, and the Rossdeutscher's were able to take a break for once! =) All our guests were so kind to bring the ingredients for all the dishes. Everything was DELICIOUS!! We had lots left over, but Dave and I have managed to polish off most of it in the last few days, surprisingly. Karl made some AWESOME pies for dessert and I tried a new recipe that I got from Jamie called a "Gingerbread Pumpkin Trifle". This Thanksgiving was very special because my mom got to join us (a first) and we had some new guests join us (Chad's mom and niece). Here are some of the many pictures taken throughout the day. Liz, David, and Faith--we really missed you guys!!!

Before dinner we hung out and watched football (of course) and the ladies scrapbooked. Even Cuddles joined in on this....... =)

Here are the guests hard at work on the yummy food!

We had to put 3 tables together in order to seat everyone, but fortunately we were able to all sit around the same table and enjoy each other's company because there were some VERY funny stories told!

I am so thankful that both of our families get along so well with each other and that they even ASK to be at the same places at the same time! It makes family events (such as Thanksgiving) even more enjoyable.

After dinner, we had a typical "Williams' Thanksgiving": Fun with the honey, talking with Liz all the way in Japan on the phone, MANY stories from Davey, the annual checkers tournament, and the annual "paper ball" contest. Chad and Dad were the winners for the "paper ball" contest and the checkers tournament, respectively. In the picture you can see them both holding their good luck charms--their firstborns! =) We are too silly, aren't we??

Every year for the past three years (since we have known the Moon's), they have been our guests for dessert. This year they brought Olivia (a first for our tradition) and Chad's family. We had so much fun with them! Ms. Jane and Danyelle seemed to really get into the spirit. In fact, Danyelle and Ms. Jane were two of the best "paper-ballers" we had this year. Chad ended up beating his own mom and playing against Karl in the finals. They were good sports! Olivia seemed to enjoy herself as well. Dave taught her something new--he taught her to turn off the DirectTv box because he didn't want to watch the Food Network channel! How clever! Of course we all thought it was hilarious, so she kept wanting to do it and ended up bumping her head twice! =) (She was perfectly fine though.....)

As you can see, even Chipper and Cuddles were able to enjoy a little of the Thanksgiving dinner. However, they didn't appreciate it as much as they thought they would. They both turned up their noses to the turkey and didn't even try a single piece! Before everyone left, we had to get group pictures...of course! =)

We want to thank all of you that came for such a memorable Thanksgiving!! Thank you for all you did to help and for providing the fun, food, and laughter to make this Thanksgiving a HUGE success!
